GREENFIELD NEWS - 29 September 2011:


FAMILY NEWS:

Marjorie and Glen Davies have been unwell in recent months. Marjorie fell last week and has broken her ankle. Eunice Bowen celebrated her 90th birthday. Kate and Rhys Lawson have moved to Durham where Rhys begins at University.


One of our oldest church members Edith Hussey has died.
The funeral service of Peter Hartland was held at Greenfield last Thursday followed by cremation at the Llanelli Crematorium. The chief Executive of ‘Mission Africa’ Rev Dr Peter Bailie spoke of Peter’s service on the mission field, always a wonderful support to Doreen who served as a teacher Missionary in Nigerian for many years.
The funeral of Jamie Phillips was held at Greenfield on 14th September. Jamie died tragically on 3rd September.


HARVEST 2011:

This year’s harvest supper will be held on Monday 10th October at 6.30pm in the schoolroom. The tickets are £6 and available from Janice or Brenda. The proceeds are in aid of the chapel building fund.
There will be a special offering for the relief work of BMS World Mission. Harvest envelopes will be distributed in the next few weeks.

Our Harvest services this year will be held on Sunday 16th October. The morning service will be ‘All Age’ Family worship and the evening service will be a service of praise and thanksgiving. Each Autumn we have ‘Back to church’ Sunday and our Harvest service will be an opportunity for us to welcome family members and friends.


TUESDAY NEWS:

Thanks for the donation of £200 made to the Teenage Cancer Trust Sponsored Walk. The cakes stall for October and November will be for the breast care centre at Prince Philip Hospital. The Christmas lunch this year will be held on 13th December at 12 noon at the Lliedi Suite. If you would like to join with us then please let Terry or Cheryl know.
There will be no Tuesday morning service on 27th December. We re-commence after Christmas on 3rd January.
